Hi, I’m Reachany.

Welcome to my blog. If you are looking for polished, “perfect” business advice, you might be in the wrong place.
But if you are looking for the real story of what it takes to start, fail, and rebuild a small coffee business in Cambodia, then you are right where you belong.
I am the founder and owner of The Press Day Coffee, a small, stable coffee shop that I built with my own hands (and a lot of hard lessons).
My Journey (The Short Version)
My path to becoming a business owner wasn’t a straight line.
2016: I graduated from the University of Management and Economics with a degree in Economics. I had the “book knowledge,” but I knew I needed to understand the product.
2018–2020: I spent two years training as a barista at COFICO Vocational Training Center and working in local cafes to save money.
2021: I followed my dream and opened my first coffee shop.
2023: I failed. After two years of struggle, I had to close my doors. It was the hardest moment of my life.

Why This Blog Exists
When my first shop failed, I felt alone. I realized that most people only talk about their success—nobody talks about the messy, painful middle part.
I didn’t give up. I took an entrepreneurship course at CamEd Business School in Phnom Penh, learned how to manage my mindset, and rebuilt my business from scratch.
I started this blog to share everything I learned along the way. I divide my writing into three parts:
- Startup Journey: The real stories of opening and running a shop.
- Founder Mindset: How to handle the stress and mental weight of entrepreneurship.
- Coffee Shop Guide: Practical tips on costs, equipment, and recipes.
My Mission
My goal is simple: I want to help other aspiring small business owners avoid the mistakes I made. Whether you are dreaming of opening a café or just trying to survive your first year of business, I hope my stories help you carry the weight a little better.

Thank you for reading, and welcome to The Press Day Coffee community.
